Fried Chicken Ingredients
Method
Fried Chicken Preparation
Brining the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, roasted garlic, chopped thyme, rosemary, and lemon zest. Submerge the chicken pieces in the mixture, cover, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Preparing the Coating
In a separate large bowl, mix all-purpose flour, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
Coating the Chicken
Remove chicken from the brine, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating. Shake off any excess flour.
Frying the Chicken
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the coated chicken pieces in batches. Fry for about 15-18 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.
Draining and Serving
Remove the chicken from the oil and place it on a wire rack or paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot and enjoy.
