Burger Preparation
1. Prepare the Burger Patties
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until well combined. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into thick patties.
2. Cook the Patties
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
3. Assemble the Burger
Toast the burger buns if desired. On the bottom half of each bun, layer lettuce, the cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
4. Serve
