Method
Cocktail
- 1
Chill glass
Place a martini or coupe glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes, or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail, then discard the ice water before straining.
- 2
Combine ingredients
Add 2 oz Tito's Vodka, 1 oz fig liqueur, 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.25 oz simple syrup (if you prefer sweeter), and 1 dash orange bitters into a cocktail shaker.
- 3
Add ice and shake
Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup), secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is chilled and slightly frosted. This both chills and dilutes the drink to balance sweetness and acidity.
- 4
Strain
Double-strain (using a Hawthorne strainer and fine mesh if available) into the chilled martini or coupe glass to remove small ice shards and any fig pulp.
Garnish & Serve
- 5
- 6
Float or skewer a fresh fig slice (or a piece of dried fig) on the rim or gently place it on the surface of the cocktail for aroma and visual appeal.
- 7
Serve immediately. Adjust sweetness with additional simple syrup to taste if desired.
