Method

Cooking Pasta

  1. 1

    Cook the Spaghetti

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Making Spicy Marinara Sauce

  1. 2

    Prepare the Marinara Sauce

In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes, sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  2. 3

    Add Tomatoes and Season

Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, chopped basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and let cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Making Meatballs

  1. 4

    Mix Meatball Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 5

    Form and Cook Meatballs

Shape the mixture into meatballs (about 1.5 inches in diameter). In a skillet over medium heat, cook the meatballs for about 10 minutes, turning occasionally until browned and cooked through.

Assembling the Dish

  1. 6

    Combine Everything

In a large serving bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti, spicy marinara sauce, and meatballs. Toss to coat evenly.

  2. 7

    Add Toppings

Top with shredded mozzarella cheese, sliced roasted red pepper, and fried basil leaves.
