Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all the ingredients: focaccia bread, egg, lemon herb aioli, arugula, salami calabrese, and mozzarella cheese.

  2. 2

    Cook the Egg

In a small skillet, heat a little oil over medium heat. Crack the egg into the skillet and cook it sunny side up or to your desired doneness.

Assembling the Panini

  1. 3

    Spread the Sauces

Take one slice of focaccia bread and spread 1 tablespoon of lemon herb aioli on it. On the other slice, spread 2 tablespoons of Tuscan kale pesto.

  2. 4

    Layer the Ingredients

On the aioli slice, layer the cooked egg, salami calabrese slices, mozzarella cheese, and arugula. Top with the pesto slice of focaccia bread.

Grilling the Panini

  1. 5

    Grill the Panini

Preheat a panini press or a skillet over medium heat. If using a skillet, you can place a heavy pan on top to press down the sandwich. Grill the panini for about 3-5 minutes until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted.

Serving

  1. 6

    Slice and Serve

Remove the panini from the grill or skillet and let it cool for a minute. Slice it in half and serve warm.
