Steak and Potatoes

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and chop the russet potatoes into chunks. Place them in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 2

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add minced garlic, heavy cream, and 2 tablespoons of butter. Mash until creamy and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Steak

While the potatoes are cooking, season the ribeye steaks with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted and sizzling, add the steaks. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting time based on your preferred doneness.

  5. 5

    Add Garlic Flavor

In the last minute of cooking, add whole garlic cloves to the skillet to infuse flavor. Baste the steaks with the melted butter.

  6. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the ribeye steaks with a generous portion of garlic mashed potatoes on the side.
