Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Glass
Chill a cocktail glass by filling it with ice water and setting it aside.
- 2
Muddle the Basil
In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh Thai basil leaves. Use a muddler to gently press the leaves to release their oils.
- 3
Combine the Ingredients
Add the Banhez Mezcal, Hayman's Old Tom Gin, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup into the shaker with the muddled basil.
- 4
Shake the Mixture
Fill the shaker with ice cubes and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to chill the mixture.
- 5
Strain into Glass
Discard the ice water from the chilled cocktail glass. Strain the mixture into the glass using a fine mesh strainer to remove the basil bits.
- 6
Garnish and Serve
Garnish with a lemon wheel and a sprig of Thai basil. Serve immediately and enjoy!
