Cocktail

Method

Prepare Glass

  1. 1

Chill a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail.

  2. 2

Pour the tablespoon of granulated sugar onto a small plate. Run the cut side of the lemon wedge around the rim of the chilled glass to moisten it, then dip the rim into the sugar and twist to coat. Set the glass aside.

Mix Cocktail

  1. 3

Fill a cocktail shaker with 6 ice cubes.

  2. 4

Add 2 oz Cutwater Lemon Vodka (or plain vodka), 0.75 oz triple sec, 0.75 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup to the shaker.

  3. 5

Cap the shaker and shake vigorously for about 10–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is very cold and a good chill and dilution have been achieved.

  4. 6

Dump the ice or water from the chilled glass, then double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer (or just the shaker strainer if you don't have a fine strainer).

Garnish & Serve

  1. 7

Express the oils of a lemon twist over the drink by holding the twist over the glass and giving it a quick squeeze, then drop it in or place on the rim. Alternatively, garnish with the lemon wedge used for rimming.

  2. 8

Serve immediately. Estimated single serving alcohol strength is similar to a classic Lemon Drop—drink responsibly.
