Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Chill glass

Place a coupe or Nick & Nora glass in the freezer or fill with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to chill it thoroughly.

  2. 2

Add gin, dry vermouth, elderflower liqueur, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup to a mixing glass or shaker. Fill the mixing glass with ice (large cubes if available).

  3. 3

Stir the mixture for 20–30 seconds until well chilled and properly diluted (if using a coupe/Nick & Nora and aiming for silky texture). If you prefer a slightly brighter, aerated finish, shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds instead.

  4. 4

Discard the chilling ice/water from your serving glass and add a large ice cube or sphere (if serving over ice). Strain the mixed cocktail into the chilled glass. If using the celebratory version, strain into a flute or coupe and skip the large ice cube.

  5. 5

Top gently with 1.5 oz chilled sparkling water (or 1.5 oz champagne/sparkling wine for the celebratory variant). Pour slowly down the side of the glass to preserve effervescence and avoid foam-over.

  6. 6

Give the drink a gentle stir (1–2 revolutions) to integrate the bubbly without flattening it.

Garnish & Finish

  1. 7

Express the lemon peel over the drink by holding it skin-side down above the surface and giving it a firm twist to release oils, then swipe the peel around the rim and drop it into the glass.

  2. 8

Clap the mint sprig lightly between your palms to release aromatics and place it on top of the drink or rest it along the rim. Add an edible flower or microgreens on the mint for visual flair, if using.

  3. 9

Serve immediately while sparkling and aromatic.
