Burger Ingredients

Fig Jam Ingredients

Method

Fig Jam Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fig Jam

In a medium saucepan, combine fresh figs, sugar, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens and the figs break down, about 20-25 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool before using.

Burger Assembly

  1. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.

  2. 3

    Cook the Foie Gras

In the same skillet, sear the foie gras for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown but still soft in the center. Remove and set aside.

  3. 4

Form and Cook the Burger Patties

In a bowl, combine ground beef with salt and pepper to taste. Form into two burger patties. In the skillet, cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, adding cheese on top during the last minute to melt.

  4. 5

    Toast the Brioche Buns

While the patties are cooking, toast the brioche buns in the skillet until golden brown.

  5. 6

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of the toasted brioche bun, spread a generous amount of the house-made fig jam. Place the burger patty on top, followed by the crispy bacon, seared foie gras, and a handful of fresh arugula. Top with the other half of the brioche bun.
