Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Cavatappi

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the cavatappi pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Brisket and BBQ Sauce

  1. 2

    Prepare the Brisket

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the shredded brisket with the mesquite BBQ sauce. Stir to coat and heat through for about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cheese Sauce

  1. 3

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, whisk in the flour and cook for 2 minutes until bubbly. Gradually add the milk, whisking continuously until the sauce thickens. Stir in the salt and black pepper. Once thickened, add the shredded cooper sharp cheese and stir until melted and smooth.

Combine and Bake

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked cavatappi, cheese sauce, brisket mixture, blistered tomatoes, and peas. Mix until well combined.

  2. 5

    Bake

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, and top with additional cheese if desired. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until heated through and golden on top.

  3. 6

    Add Toppings

Once baked, remove from the oven and top with crispy onion rings. Serve warm.
