Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Boil the Eggs

Place the eggs in a pot of cold water, bring to a boil, and cook for 6-7 minutes for soft-boiled or 9-10 minutes for hard-boiled. Once done, transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool, then peel them.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Sausage Mixture

In a bowl, combine the ground sausage meat with salt and black pepper. Mix well until the seasoning is evenly distributed.

  3. 3

    Wrap the Eggs

Divide the sausage mixture into 6 equal portions. Flatten each portion into a patty, then wrap it around each peeled egg, ensuring it is fully covered.

  4. 4

    Coat the Eggs

Roll each wrapped egg in flour, dip in beaten egg (if desired), and then coat with breadcrumbs.

  5. 5

    Fry the Scotch Eggs

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Fry the scotch eggs in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per batch.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove the scotch eggs from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with mustard on the side.
