Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Burger Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, brisket, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until combined but do not overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Shape the mixture into a patty that is about 7 oz in weight. Make a slight indentation in the center of the patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patty

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patty for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C). If using cheese, add a slice on top of the patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

  4. 4

    Toast the Buns

Lightly toast the potato bun on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burger

Place the cooked burger patty on the bottom half of the toasted bun. Add lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and any other desired toppings. Top with the other half of the bun.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the burger immediately with your choice of sides.
