Prepare the Lamb
In a pan over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the chopped onion until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute. Add the thinly sliced lamb, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook until the lamb is browned and cooked through.

Make the Tomato Sauce
In a separate saucepan, heat the tomato sauce over low heat. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.

Prepare the Pita Bread
Lightly toast the pita bread pieces in a toaster or on a grill until warm and slightly crispy.

Melt the Butter
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat until it is completely liquid.

Assemble the Dish
On a serving plate, place the toasted pita bread pieces. Top with the cooked lamb, then pour the hot tomato sauce generously over the lamb. Drizzle the melted butter over the top.

Serve with Yogurt
Serve the iskender kebab hot with a side of plain yogurt for dipping.
