Method
For the Sandwich
- 1
Prepare the Fish
Preheat a frying pan over medium heat. Add a small amount of butter. Once melted, place the fish fillets in the pan. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- 2
Toast the Bread
While the fish is cooking, spread butter on one side of each slice of white bread. Once the fish is cooked, remove it from the pan and place it on a plate. In the same pan, place the slices of bread, buttered side down, and toast until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and toast the other side for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- 3
Assemble the Sandwich
On the unbuttered side of two slices of toasted bread, spread the mayonnaise or tartar sauce. Top with a layer of lettuce, followed by the cooked fish fillet. Place the remaining slices of bread on top, buttered side up.
For the Fries
- 4
Prepare the Fries
Preheat the oven according to the package instructions for the frozen french fries. Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet and sprinkle with salt. Bake according to package instructions, usually around 20-25 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown.
