Method

Frying the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Coat the Shrimp

Dip each shrimp into the beaten eggs, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture. Ensure each shrimp is evenly coated.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Shrimp

Fry the shrimp in batches, about 3-4 minutes each, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Making Seasoned Rice

  1. 5

    Sauté Aromatics

In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped onion, cooking until fragrant and translucent.

  2. 6

    Cook the Rice

Add the rice, water, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until rice is tender.

  3. 7

    Add Parsley

Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork and stir in the chopped parsley.

Sautéing Vegetables

  1. 8

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add bell peppers, zucchini, and carrots. Season with salt and black pepper.

  2. 9

    Cook Until Tender

Sauté the vegetables for about 5-7 minutes until they are tender yet crisp.

Serving

  1. 10

    Plate the Dish

On each plate, serve a portion of seasoned rice, sautéed vegetables, and fried shrimp.

  2. 11

    Add Sauce and Lemon

Serve with cocktail sauce on the side and garnish with fresh lemon wedges.
