For Cooking

Method

Prepare the French Toast Mixture

  1. 1

    Mix the Egg Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt until fully combined and frothy.

Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar

  1. 2

    Combine Sugar and Cinnamon

In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon together until well blended. Set aside.

Cook the French Toast

  1. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet or griddle, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat until bubbling but not browned.

  2. 4

    Dip the Bread

Take a slice of bread and dip it into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated but not soaked.

  3. 5

    Cook the Bread

Place the dipped bread slice onto the hot skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Repeat with remaining slices, adding more butter as needed.

  4. 6

    Coat with Cinnamon Sugar

Once cooked, immediately sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over one side of each slice while hot, ensuring an even coating.

Serve

  1. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Serve the French toast warm, dusted with powdered sugar on top. Enjoy with maple syrup or fresh fruits if desired.
