Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Sauce
In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Pour in the San Marzano tomatoes, add dried oregano, salt, and black pepper, and let simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- 2
Cook the Veal
While the sauce simmers, preheat the grill or a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the veal tomahawk steaks with salt and pepper. Grill or sear for 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
- 3
Add Cheese and Basil
Once the veal is cooked, remove from heat and place the steaks on a baking dish. Pour the tomato sauce over the steaks, then top with slices of mozzarella and a generous sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese. Add fresh basil on top.
- 4
Broil
Place the dish under the broiler for 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 5
Serve
Remove from the oven, let rest for a couple of minutes, then serve hot with additional fresh basil for garnish.
