Madeleines

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a madeleine pan by greasing it with butter or non-stick spray.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs until frothy. Then add the melted butter and vanilla extract, mixing well.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Slowly fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 5

    Fill the Pan

Spoon the batter into the prepared madeleine pan, filling each mold about 3/4 full.

  6. 6

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers spring back when touched.

  7. 7

    Prepare Hot Honey Butter

In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with honey and hot sauce (if using). Stir until well combined.

  8. 8

    Serve

Remove the madeleines from the oven, let them cool slightly, then serve warm with hot honey butter.
