Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Cook the Macaroni

In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 2 minutes until it forms a paste. Gradually whisk in the milk, making sure there are no lumps. Cook until the mixture thickens and bubbles, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add the Cheeses

Remove the pot from heat and stir in the white cheddar, Gruyère, and Parmesan Reggiano cheeses until melted and smooth. Season with salt, black pepper, and mustard powder.

  4. 4

    Combine the Macaroni and Sauce

Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well combined.

  5. 5

    Prepare for Baking

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mac and cheese to a greased baking dish.

  6. 6

    Add Panko Topping

Sprinkle the panko bread crumbs evenly over the top of the mac and cheese.

  7. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.

  8. 8

    Serve

Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious mac n' cheese!
