Method

Smoothie Base

1

Prepare fruit

If using whole frozen strawberries that are large, briefly run them under cold water to remove any frost and let sit for 1 minute to slightly loosen; measure 1.5 cups. Slice the banana and measure 1/2 cup (about half a medium banana).

2

Add the frozen strawberries, sliced banana, Greek yogurt, and milk to a blender jar. The ingredient order is: liquids first (milk, yogurt) then fruit to help blending.

3

Add honey (or maple syrup) and vanilla extract to the blender.

4

Secure the blender lid and blend on medium-high speed for 30–60 seconds, or until smooth and no large fruit pieces remain. Stop and scrape down the sides once if needed, then continue blending.

5

Check consistency: the target is a 16 oz (about 2 cups) smoothie with a pourable but slightly thick texture. If too thick, add up to 2 tablespoons (30 ml) more milk and blend 10–15 seconds. If too thin, add 2–4 tablespoons of frozen strawberries or 1–2 ice cubes and blend again.

Optional Add-ins

6

If using ice, seeds, or protein powder, add them to the blender with the other ingredients before the first blend. Blend until fully incorporated and smooth. Note: chia seeds will thicken the smoothie slightly if left to sit.

Garnish & Serve

7

Pour the smoothie into a 16 oz glass. Taste and adjust sweetness if desired (add 1/2 tbs honey and stir).

8

Garnish with a sliced fresh strawberry on the rim and a mint leaf on top. Serve immediately with a straw.
