Method
Green Pomegranate Tea Base
Heat water
Heat 180 ml water to 75–80°C (167–176°F). If you don't have a thermometer, bring water to a gentle simmer and let it sit 1 minute to cool slightly.
Steep tea
Place 1 tsp green tea leaves or 1 tea sachet in a cup or small teapot. Pour the heated water over the tea and steep for 1.5–2 minutes for delicate green tea (up to 3 minutes for stronger brew). Avoid over-steeping to prevent bitterness.
Add pomegranate elements
Remove the tea leaves or sachet. Stir in 1 tablespoon pomegranate molasses (or concentrated pomegranate syrup) until fully dissolved. If using fresh pomegranate juice for brightness, stir in 30 ml now and taste — adjust sweetness if needed.
Milk & Sweetener
Sweeten and flavor milk
In a small saucepan or milk frother, combine 180 ml milk, 1 tsp simple syrup (or honey/agave), and 1 tsp vanilla extract (if using). Warm gently over low heat until steaming but not boiling (about 60–70°C / 140–158°F). Stir to dissolve sweetener.
Finishes & Garnish
Garnish
Sprinkle 1/4 tsp matcha powder or a light dusting of finely ground green tea over the foam to intensify the green-tea character. Scatter 1 tsp pomegranate arils on top for texture and a bright pop of color.
Optional adjustments & serve
Taste the latte. If you prefer it sweeter, add an additional 1/2 tsp simple syrup and stir gently. Serve immediately while hot.
