Method

Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, approximately ¾ inch thick, making a slight indentation in the center of each.

Mushroom Topping

  1. 3

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped shallots and sauté until translucent, about 2-3 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Mushrooms

Add the wild mushrooms to the skillet and cook until softened and browned, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in fresh thyme, salt, and black pepper, and remove from heat.

Burger Assembly

  1. 5

    Cook the Burger Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and top each patty with a slice of Swiss cheese. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches desired doneness.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each burger bun, layer a leaf of lettuce and a slice of tomato. Place the cooked patty on top, followed by a generous spoonful of the sautéed mushroom mixture. Spread mustard and ketchup on the top half of the bun and close the burger.
