Salad Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Vegetables
Rinse the mixed salad greens under cold water and pat them dry using a kitchen towel or a salad spinner. Halve the cherry tomatoes, slice the cucumber into thin rounds, and finely chop the red onion.
- 2
Combine the Vegetables
In a large salad bowl, combine the mixed salad greens, halved cherry tomatoes, sliced cucumber, and chopped red onion. Toss gently to mix the ingredients evenly.
Herb Preparation
- 3
Chop the Herbs
Finely chop the fresh basil, parsley, and chives. Add these chopped herbs to the salad bowl with the vegetables.
Dressing Preparation
- 4
Make the Dressing
In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- 5
Dress the Salad
Drizzle the dressing over the salad mixture in the large bowl. Toss gently to ensure that all ingredients are coated with the dressing.
Final Touch
- 6
Add Parmesan
Using a vegetable peeler or a grater, shave the Parmesan cheese over the top of the dressed salad, ensuring an even distribution.
- 7
Serve
Serve the herb salad immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese if desired.
