Method
Bread Preparation
- 1
Activate the Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the active dry yeast on top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Mix the Dough
In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Once the yeast is activated, add it to the flour mixture along with olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let the Dough Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
- 5
Shape the Bread
After the dough has risen, punch it down and shape it into a loaf or divide it into smaller pieces for rolls.
- 6
Second Rise
Place the shaped bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover, and let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
- 7
Bake the Bread
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
Garlic Butter Preparation
- 8
Prepare the Garlic Butter
In a medium bowl, combine softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Final Bake
Return the buttered bread to the oven and bake at 350°F (175°C) for an additional 10 minutes until the butter is melted and the edges are crispy.
