Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season both sides of the fillets with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Let them sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate shallow dishes, place the all-purpose flour in the first dish, beat the eggs in the second dish, and place the breadcrumbs in the third dish.
- 3
Bread the Fish
Take a seasoned fish fillet and dredge it in the flour, ensuring it's fully coated. Shake off any excess flour. Next, dip the fillet into the beaten eggs, allowing the excess to drip off. Finally, coat the fillet in breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere. Repeat this process with all the fillets.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. You want enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan generously.
- 5
Fry the Fillets
Once the oil is hot (you can test it by dropping a small piece of bread into the oil, which should sizzle), carefully place the breaded fish fillets in the skillet. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Avoid overcrowding the pan; work in batches if necessary.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Once the fillets are cooked, transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil. Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.
