Method

Fish Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fish

Rinse the white fish fillets under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Fish

In a bowl, combine the lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and olive oil. Add the fish fillets to the bowl and coat them well. Allow them to marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Steaming Process

  1. 3

    Prepare the Steamer

Fill a pot with water, ensuring it does not touch the steamer basket. Bring the water to a boil and then reduce to a simmer.

  2. 4

    Add Vegetables

Place broccoli florets, sliced carrots, and bell pepper in the steamer basket. Sprinkle minced garlic over the vegetables.

  3. 5

    Steam Vegetables

Cover the pot and steam the vegetables for about 5-7 minutes, or until tender but still vibrant in color.

  4. 6

    Add Fish to Steamer

After the vegetables have steamed for a few minutes, place the marinated fish fillets on top of the vegetables in the steamer basket.

  5. 7

    Steam Fish

Cover again and steam the fish and vegetables for an additional 10-12 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Dish

Once cooked, carefully remove the steamer basket from the pot. Serve the fish fillets over the steamed vegetables.

  2. 9

    Garnish and Enjoy

Drizzle a little extra olive oil over the top, if desired, and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
