Method

Preparation of Ribs

  1. 1

    Prepare the ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the pork ribs using a sharp knife for better flavor absorption.

  2. 2

    Season the ribs

Rub the pork ribs with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Ensure they are evenly coated.

Making BBQ Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine ingredients

In a medium bowl, mix together ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Adjust seasoning with hot sauce if desired.

  2. 4

    Simmer the sauce

Transfer the mixture to a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until slightly thickened.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 5

    Preheat the oven

Preheat your oven to 160°C (320°F).

  2. 6

    Bake the ribs

Place the seasoned ribs on a baking tray lined with aluminum foil. Cover with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours until they are tender.

  3. 7

    Add BBQ sauce

Remove the ribs from the oven, discard the foil, and generously brush the BBQ sauce over the ribs on both sides.

  4. 8

    Broil for finishing

Return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, and broil on high for an additional 5-10 minutes until the sauce gets caramelized and sticky.

Serving

  1. 9

    Garnish and serve

Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
