Prepare the Tomatoes
Dice the ripe tomatoes into small cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.

Add Garlic and Seasonings
Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the bowl with the diced tomatoes. Add salt and black pepper to taste.

Add Basil
Chop the fresh basil leaves and fold them into the tomato mixture. Set aside to let the flavors meld.

Slice the Baguette
Slice the baguette into ½ inch thick slices on a diagonal.

Toast the Bread
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Brush each slice of baguette with olive oil on both sides and arrange them on a baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until the bread is golden and crispy.

Remove the toasted bread from the oven. Spoon the tomato and basil mixture generously onto each slice.
