Method

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil the Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Once boiling, add the tagliatelline pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 3-4 minutes.

  2. 2

    Reserve Pasta Water

Before draining the pasta, reserve about 1 cup of the pasta cooking water. This will be used to adjust the sauce consistency.

  3. 3

    Drain the Pasta

Drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.

Preparing the Sauce

  1. 4

    Melt the Butter

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter until it starts to foam, being careful not to let it brown.

  2. 5

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained tagliatelline pasta directly into the skillet with the melted butter.

  3. 6

    Add Parmesan and Pepper

Sprinkle the freshly grated Parmesan cheese and freshly cracked black pepper over the pasta. Toss everything together to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach your desired sauce consistency.

  4. 7

    Season to Taste

Taste the pasta and add salt if necessary, adjusting the seasoning according to your preference.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Pasta

Divide the pasta into serving bowls and garnish with additional Parmesan cheese, cracked black pepper, and fresh parsley if desired.

  2. 9
