Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Burger Patty

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, soy sauce, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Shape the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a patty that is slightly larger than the burger bun. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to ensure even cooking.

Cooking the Burger Patties

  1. 3

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the burger patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

  2. 4

    Add Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty. Cover to help the cheese melt.

Cooking the Pineapple

  1. 5

    Grill the Pineapple

On the same grill or skillet, add the pineapple slices and grill for 2-3 minutes on each side until caramelized and golden.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Burger Buns

While the patties and pineapple are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Burger

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Top with lettuce, the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, grilled pineapple, tomato slices, and red onion slices. Drizzle teriyaki sauce on top and cover with the other half of the bun.
