Cocktail

Batch / Pitcher (optional - makes about 6 cocktails)

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Prepare the glass

If desired, rub a lime wedge around the rim of a chilled rocks or coupe glass. Dip the rim into coarse salt or sugar to coat. Set the glass aside.

  2. 2

    Combine ingredients

Fill a cocktail shaker about two-thirds full with ice. Add 2 oz Patrón Silver tequila, 0.5 oz Cointreau (or triple sec), 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 1 oz pineapple juice, 1 oz cranberry juice, and 0.25 oz agave syrup into the shaker.

  3. 3

    Shake

Secure the shaker lid and hand-shake vigorously for 12–18 seconds, until the shaker is well-chilled and slightly frosted. This both chills and dilutes the drink to the right balance.

  4. 4

    Strain and serve

Double-strain (using a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer or just the shaker strainer) into the prepared glass over fresh ice if using a rocks glass, or neat into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a lime wheel and a pineapple wedge or leaf.

  5. 5

    Final touch

Taste and adjust: if you prefer sweeter, add 0.25 oz more agave syrup and stir once; for more tartness, add a splash (0.25 oz) more lime juice and gently mix.

Batch / Pitcher (optional)

  1. 6

In a large pitcher, combine 12 oz Patrón Silver tequila, 3 oz Cointreau, 4.5 oz fresh lime juice, 6 oz pineapple juice, 6 oz cranberry juice and 1.5 oz agave syrup. Stir thoroughly to combine.

  2. 7

Add plenty of ice to the pitcher to chill, or refrigerate the mixture until cold. When ready to serve, pour over ice into individual prepared glasses (rimmed if desired) and garnish each with lime and pineapple.

  3. 8

Batch tastes may require minor adjustment: if the mix tastes too tart, add additional agave 0.25–0.5 oz per 6-servings; if too sweet, add a touch more lime juice.
