Passion Fruit Margarita Recipe

Prepare Glass

Rim the glass
Pour the salt (and sugar, if using) onto a small plate and spread into an even layer. Run the lime wedge around the rim of a chilled coupe or rocks glass, then press the rim into the salt mixture to coat evenly. Set the glass aside.
Mix Cocktail

Fill a cocktail shaker with the ice (about 1 cup).

Add the Cazadores Reposado tequila (2 oz) to the shaker.

Add the passion fruit liqueur (1 oz).

Add the fresh lime juice (1 oz) and fresh orange juice (1/2 oz) to balance acidity and add citrus complexity.

Add the agave syrup (1/2 oz). If you prefer sweeter, increase to 3/4 oz; for drier, reduce to 1/4 oz.

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is frosty and the ingredients are well chilled and integrated.

Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass using a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer to remove ice shards and any seeds or pulp. If you want visible passion fruit pulp in the drink, discard the fine strainer and strain only once.
Garnish & Finish

Spoon half of the fresh passion fruit (about 1/2 of a fruit) over the top of the poured cocktail for aroma, texture, and visual appeal. Gently stir once if you want the pulp incorporated.

Garnish with the reserved lime wedge on the rim or floated on the glass. Serve immediately.
