Chowder Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a large pot, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon and drain on paper towels, leaving the bacon fat in the pot.

  2. 2

    Sauté Vegetables

Add the chopped onion, celery, and garlic to the pot. Sauté until the onions are translucent, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Potatoes and Broth

Stir in the diced potatoes, chicken broth, thyme, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes.

  4. 4

    Add Clams and Cream

Stir in the clams and heavy cream. Simmer for another 5 minutes to heat through.

  5. 5

    Finish the Chowder

Stir in the lemon juice and crumbled bacon. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.

  6. 6

    Serve

Ladle the chowder into bowls and garnish with chopped chives. Serve hot.
