Cocktail
Combine ingredients
In a cocktail shaker add 2 oz gin, 0.5 oz chilled dry vermouth, 0.5 oz elderflower liqueur, 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.5 oz grape must or white grape juice, 0.25 oz simple syrup, and 2 dashes Angostura bitters.
Add ice and shake
Fill the shaker with plenty of ice (about 1 cup). Seal and shake vigorously for 12–18 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and the exterior frosts.
Finish
Express the oils from the lemon wheel over the cocktail by gently pinching the wheel skin-side-down above the drink, then drop the wheel into the glass. Skewer the two halved grapes on a small pick and rest across the rim or float in the cocktail. Optionally, lightly slap a small sprig of thyme or rosemary between your hands to release aromatics and lay it on the rim.
Serving & Notes
Serve immediately while cold. The elderflower and grape components nod to Sonoma County's floral and wine heritage — adjust the grape must/juice quantity up to 0.75 oz for a more pronounced grape character, or reduce simple syrup for a drier profile.
If fresh grape must is available, use it in place of grape juice for a greener, more vinous note. For a slightly richer take, swap the dry vermouth for a Brighton or blanc-style vermouth and reduce elderflower to 0.25 oz.
