Base Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Syrup Base

In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups of sugar, 2 cups of water, and 1 cup of corn syrup. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.

  2. 2

    Heat the Mixture

Place the saucepan on medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Vanilla and Salt

Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract and 1 teaspoon of salt until well combined.

Flavoring

  1. 4

    Incorporate Flavor Extracts

Add 1 teaspoon each of the listed flavor extracts (almond, cherry, coconut, lemon, orange, peppermint, root beer, vanilla bean paste, chocolate, anise, ginger, nutmeg, cardamom, clove, cinnamon, lavender, strawberry, raspberry, pineapple, grape, peach, blackberry) to the syrup base. Stir well to combine.

  2. 5

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the syrup and adjust the flavors as necessary, adding more of any extract to suit your preference.

Storage

  1. 6

    Cool and Store

Let the syrup cool to room temperature. Transfer it to a clean bottle or jar and seal tightly. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.
