Method

Preparation Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Blood Oranges

Wash the blood oranges thoroughly, then cut them in half and juice them. Strain the juice to remove any seeds and pulp.

  2. 2

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the blood orange juice, cider base, sugar, and water. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.

  3. 3

    Add the Yeast

Sprinkle the yeast over the mixture and gently stir to incorporate. Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Fermentation

Transfer the mixture into a sanitized fermentation vessel. Seal with an airlock and let it ferment in a cool, dark place for 1 to 2 weeks.

  5. 5

    Bottling

Once fermentation is complete, siphon the cider into sanitized bottles, leaving some space at the top. Seal the bottles tightly.

  6. 6

    Aging

Store the bottles in a cool, dark place for at least 2 weeks to allow flavors to mature before enjoying.
