Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steak dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Add the ribeye steak to the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Add Flavor

During the last minute of cooking, add butter and crushed garlic cloves to the pan. Spoon the melted butter over the steak.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 6

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks. Place them in a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 7

    Prepare the Garlic

While the potatoes are boiling, mince the garlic cloves.

  3. 8

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the minced garlic, butter, milk, salt, and black pepper.

  4. 9

    Mix Until Smooth

Use a potato masher or a mixer to blend everything until smooth and creamy.

  5. 10

    Serve

Spoon the garlic mashed potatoes onto plates and serve alongside the ribeye steak.
