Prepare the Medjool Date
Slice the Medjool date open and remove the pit. If desired, chop the date into smaller pieces for easier mixing.

Mix the Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila reposado, blackstrap rum, Vecchio amaro, and the chopped Medjool date.

Shake
Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to chill and combine the ingredients.

Strain
Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass.

Add Sherry
Gently pour the sherry over the top of the drink for an aromatic finish.

Garnish and Serve
Optionally, garnish with a slice of date or a twist of citrus peel. Serve immediately.
