Meatballs
Marinara Sauce
Method
Meatballs
- 1
Prepare the meat mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and finely chopped onion. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- 2
Form the meatballs
Using your hands, shape the meat mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place the formed meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 3
Bake the meatballs
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked through.
Marinara Sauce
- 4
Sauté garlic
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- 5
Add tomatoes and seasonings
Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Stir well to combine.
- 6
Simmer the sauce
Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
- 7
Combine meatballs with sauce
Once the meatballs are baked, add them to the marinara sauce. Let them simmer together for another 5-10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
