Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it reaches the desired temperature for baking.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Cake Pans

Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans. This will help prevent the cake from sticking.

Mixing the Ingredients

  1. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

  2. 4

    Add Wet Ingredients

Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix on medium speed for 2 minutes until smooth.

  3. 5

    Add Boiling Water

Carefully stir in the boiling water to the batter. The batter will be thin, but this is normal.

Baking

  1. 6

    Pour Batter into Pans

Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans.

  2. 7

    Bake the Cakes

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  3. 8

    Cool the Cakes

Once baked, remove the cakes from the oven and allow them to cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, remove them from the pans and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
