Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Tuna

Using a sharp knife, finely dice the fresh tuna into small cubes, about 1/4 inch in size. Place the diced tuna into a medium-sized mixing bowl.

2

Prep the Avocado

Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into the bowl with the tuna. Mash the avocado gently with a fork until combined with the tuna but still chunky.

3

Chop the Chili and Cilantro

Finely chop the red chili pepper, removing the seeds if you prefer less heat. Chop the cilantro leaves. Add both to the bowl with the tuna and avocado.

Seasoning

4

Add the Seasonings

Pour the lime juice, soy sauce, and sesame oil over the tuna mixture. Gently fold all the ingredients together until everything is well coated and combined.

5

Taste and Adjust

Taste the mixture and add more lime juice, soy sauce, or chili if desired, to achieve your preferred flavor.

Serving

6

Plate the Dish

Using a ring mold or simply a spoon, portion the tuna tartare mixture onto serving plates.

7

Garnish

Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top and add a handful of microgreens or sprouts for garnish. Serve with crackers or tortilla chips on the side.
