For the Sandwich

Method

Prepare the Blackened Salmon

  1. 1

    Mix the Spices

In a small bowl, combine paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a seasoning blend.

  2. 2

    Season the Salmon

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Rub the spice blend generously on both sides of each fillet.

  3. 3

    Cook the Salmon

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon fillets skin-side down and sear for about 4-5 minutes until a crust forms. Flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through and well done.

Prepare the Sandwich

  1. 4

    Cook the Bacon

In a separate skillet, cook the bacon strips over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.

  2. 5

    Toast the Buns (optional)

If desired, toast the burger buns in the same skillet used for the bacon until golden brown.

  3. 6

    Assemble the Sandwich

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a blackened salmon fillet, two slices of tomato, and two strips of crispy bacon. Add pickles if desired. Top with the other half of the bun.

  4. 7

    Serve

Serve the blackened salmon sandwich immediately with your choice of side.
