Oysters and Butter

Method

Preparation and Cooking

1

Prepare the Creole Butter

In a medium bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, cayenne pepper, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

2

Prepare the Oysters

Preheat your broiler to high. Carefully shuck the oysters, keeping them in their half shells. Place the oysters on a broiler-safe tray.

3

Add the Butter

Spoon a generous amount of the Creole butter mixture onto each oyster, making sure to cover them well.

4

Broil the Oysters

Place the tray with oysters under the broiler. Broil for about 3-5 minutes, or until the butter is bubbling and the oysters are cooked through. Keep a close eye to avoid burning.

5

Serve

Remove the oysters from the broiler and let them cool slightly. Serve hot with grilled lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the oysters.
