Prepare and chill glass
If desired, place a rocks glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice to chill while you build the cocktail.

Measure and combine
Add 2 oz Jameson Irish Whiskey, 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.5 oz simple syrup, and 2 dashes Angostura bitters into a cocktail shaker.

Add ice and shake
Fill the shaker two-thirds full with ice, cap it, and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and slightly frosted.

Strain
Discard ice from the chilled rocks glass (if you used it to chill). Double-strain the cocktail into the rocks glass over one large ice cube or fresh ice to keep the drink cold without overly diluting it.
