Biscuit Ingredients

Method

Biscuit Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Cut in Butter

Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. 4

    Add Wet Ingredients

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the buttermilk and honey. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix.

  5. 5

    Shape the Biscuits

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently pat it into a rectangle about 1-inch thick. Cut out biscuits using a large biscuit cutter or a glass.

  6. 6

    Bake

Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet, close together but not touching. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

  7. 7

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving warm with butter or honey.
