Method

For the Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs about 2 inches in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Cook the Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs in the oven for approximately 20 minutes or until they are cooked through and golden brown.

For the Pomodoro Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté the Onion and Garlic

In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Simmer

Add the canned tomatoes, salt, and black pepper to the saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer and let cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 6

    Finish the Sauce

Stir in the fresh basil leaves just before serving.

For the Creamy Polenta

  1. 7

    Cook the Polenta

In a large saucepan, bring water to a boil. Gradually whisk in the polenta, stirring continuously to prevent lumps. Reduce heat to low and cook for about 30 minutes, stirring frequently.

  2. 8

    Add Butter and Cheese

Once the polenta is creamy and thickened, stir in the butter, grated Grana Padano cheese, and salt. Mix until the butter and cheese are fully melted and incorporated.
