Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook Bucatini

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the bucatini pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

Crab Sauce Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the Sauce

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in Calabrian chiles and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

  2. 3

    Add Crab and Seasoning

Gently fold in the crab meat and Old Bay seasoning. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the crab is heated through. Add lemon juice and a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce if necessary.

Combine and Serve

  1. 4

    Toss Pasta with Sauce

Add the drained bucatini to the skillet with the crab sauce. Toss well to combine, adding more reserved pasta water if needed to create a silky sauce.

  2. 5

    Prepare Breadcrumb Topping

In a small bowl, mix together the bread crumbs, melted butter, grated Parmesan cheese, and chopped parsley.

  3. 6

    Top and Finish

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Transfer the pasta to a baking dish, sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly on top, and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
