Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Cut in Butter
Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Add Buttermilk
Pour in the buttermilk and mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

Shape Biscuits
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently for about 30 seconds. Pat into a 1-inch thick round. Cut out biscuits using a cutter or glass.

Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Add Broth
Gradually whisk in the chicken or vegetable broth and bring to a simmer, stirring constantly until thickened.

Stir in the chopped porcini mushrooms, heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
