Burger Assembly
Method
Preparing the Burger Patties
- 1
Mix the Ground Beef
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form them into patties, about ¾ inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.

In a separate pan, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 8
Add Cheese
Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to allow it to melt.
Assembling the Burger
- 9
Toast the Buns
Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- 10
Build the Burger
On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, the cooked patty (with your choice of toppings), and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
